A Bit About Me and My Therapeutic Approach:

What I Believe:

The foundation of mental health healing is found in our nervus system and shows up in our relationships. In our work together we will explore your nervus system and relationships work to enhance them with an understanding. We will explore your current relational foundations, find the cracks and mend them, or maybe you will choose to rebuild. Relationships are the foundation of humanity, and we all deserve ones that leave us with a strong structure resulting in an experience of Felt Safety.

My Foundation:

As a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. I seek to live life with relationships that offer me felt safety. I have study Interpersonal Neuroscience to increase my skills and knowledge creating a foundation to embrace "ALL BEHAVIOR MAKES SENSE" (Robyn Gobbel). Seeing myself and others though this Lense allows for the opportunity to thrive in relationships.

My Experience:

I am a mother of 1 birth child, 1 stepchild, 3 adopted, and called mom by many children from hard places (foster care). I worked as a social worker for the department of children and families, a case manger for foster families, then a program manager for teen group homes. I learned what you may already know, there is not enough support available. I decided, I wanted to do more for my community. Doing more took me back to school, I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021 (yes, graduate school through the pandemic). My internship was completed with children and families through a community mental health agency. There I continued to enhance my skills learning and preparing to now collaborate with you.

On this journey I have found my passion was best supported through the interpersonal neurobiology theoretical approach, and that is where I focus my learning now. I completed an I am not done learning as science provides us more information I will learn and apply it in my work with you.

How I Show Up:

I have a natural need to advocate and support clients that find themselves managing trauma. I have a passion for families that have been affected by trauma in parenting and childhood with a desire to help them thrive at living. My passion is to be with you and those that care about you as you heal. Trauma changes us in a biological way, and we have the POWER to further that change in ways that we choose, the struggles is having the tools and knowledge to do it.  I continue to learn about the brain and trauma and how we CAN heal it. As a human in the world of tragic loss and its’ cruel expression of needs, I will work to be with you in your place of need. We together will explore and learn how your brain has changed through attachment, loss and trauma. We will hold compassion for ourselves allowing space for Connection and the experience of Felt Safety, growing out appreciation for the behaviors that offer us protection.
